‘Amanti’

The mist is everywhere in front
The horses get lost inside the fog on the hot tin roofs
It looks like the sea or North Ireland a hundred years ago
The smoke and the echo of the wind

Wild cats along big scaffoldings
Wild cats running while breathing the smell of emptiness
Everything becomes liquid

Hair flies in the eyes of the two magnificent lovers
‘Turn up a little more the music!’
The motor speeds up as if he'd picked up the scent of blood
The heat, the horns forward

In the sky mirroring the sparkling lakes
Stains of green on blue in the heart of the gigantic white

Violent birds sing in harmony:
'Live as if you were leaving! Forget your language!
Live as if you were running away! Forget your name!
Live like the prisoners, the escaped prisoners!’

The white powder and the soil drying on the wheels
and the noise of the machine mixed to puddles of mug
The yellow lava stretched on flowery fields
Paintings dazzling ochre endlessly

'Oh I used to be Joy' they say in each other's ears
'Oh I used to be Joy, oh I used to be Joy’
A tree breaks and falls down at once at the same time

The mist is everywhere except in front of us
Two horses hurt themselves: some fog and they disappear
It looks like the sea or North Ireland a thousand year ago
The jetty overlooks the ocean

La brume est partout devant
Les chevaux se perdent dans le brouillard sur les toits brûlants
On dirait la mer ou l’Irlande du Nord il y a cent ans
La fumée et l’écho du vent

Des chats sauvages le long des grands échafaudages
Des chats sauvages qui courent en respirant l’odeur du vide
Tout devient liquide

Les cheveux volent dans les yeux des deux amants magnifiques
‘Monte encore un peu la musique!’
Le moteur accélère comme s’il flairait l’odeur du sang
La chaleur, les cornes en avant

Dans le ciel en miroir sur les lacs scintillants
Tâches de vert sur du bleu au coeur du gigantesque blanc
Des oiseaux violents chantent en accord:
‘Vis comme si tu partais! Oublie ta langue!
Vis comme si tu fuyais! Oublie ton nom!
Vis comme les prisonniers, les prisonniers évadés!’

La poudre blanche et la terre séchant sur les roues
et le bruit de l’engin mêlé aux flaques de boue
La lave jaune étendue sur des champs fleuris
Des peintures éclatant, de l’ocre à l’infini

‘Oh I used to be Joy’ se disent-ils à l’oreille
‘Oh I used to be Joy! Oh I used to be Joy!’
Un arbre casse et s’effondre d’un coup au même moment

La brume est partout sauf devant nous
Deux chevaux s’y blessent: du brouillard et ils disparaissent
On dirait la mer ou l’Irlande du Nord il y a mille ans
La jetée donne sur l’océan
